When His blessings make me feel guilty.

Recently, I was at a local coffees shop, observing all the different kind of people coming and going. I was, once again, reminded of the extraordinary wealth we have in this country, by the ability we have of purchasing what we want: people are getting their coffee exactly the way they want it, enjoying some French pastries, and reading the news in their mobile devices.

Blessed hopelessness

With a community event but a few days away, I realized how many things could go wrong. I started to question the wisdom behind inviting the community around us to join us for worship, on a Sunday morning.

For a moment, contemplating worst case scenarios for this event, I felt hopeless : there was no way to cover all the bases, there was no way to be sure everything would run smoothly.

And that sense of hopelessness was a great backdrop, to clearly see His work in me.
