My plans for the upcoming year.
Well, it is that time of the year when I start thinking about what’s coming next. I have the chance to evaluate my plans for the year that is ending, and it’s time to make arrangements for the next one.
One of my biggest problems (idols?) is how much I like to acquire knowledge. Because it’s really distracting and, in the worst of times, a very good source of frustration, for 2019 I have decided to ‘hire’ Solomon as my coach and mentor. Jeremiah did a great work last year, and Paul-Timothy are always a good resource for guidance. However, given the facts about my current season of life, I believe Solomon is the man.
This does not mean a departure from my fundamental standards, which related to my ministry for my congregation. I still believe the Four Elements apply to my own discipleship path, and I’m convinced our current implementation of Element #3 – Cultivate constantly – is still valid for all of us. Solomon, through Ecclesiastes, will be my personal coach, the voice in the back of my mind, helping me to make sense of the next twelve months.
This means my series of posts named “Ancient Wisdom” will have a more central and prominent place in this blog, for 2019.
Remember His grace, Follow Him in humility, Cultivate constantly, All in cultural diversity.
