Dreaming, begging, and working for an opportunity to see Him, again, restoring hearts… mine first.
I want to see it. For real. I want to see the LORD changing human hearts, expanding His kingdom, increasing His Church. And I desire, more and more every day, that He may be pleased to use me to that end.
Will He do it? Will He give me the blessing of being an instrument on His hands? Will he allow me to participate in His work of redemption?
He is, certainly, able to do it. It’s not a question about His power to use someone like me to affect eternity.
However, He may have a different plan.
But, you see, the outcome is not what I should be focused on. The result is completely up to Him, and it will be what He has ordained it to be since before the beginning of time.
The future of His Church is not dependent on my efforts and / or abilities. He loves her too much to leave it up to me to secure her eternal destination.
But even if He has a plan that differs from my desires; even if He does not give me the blessing of seeing people coming to the knowledge of His saving grace, I still have something to celebrate: His work in me.
He is the One who gives me the desire and the ability to participate, and in doing so, He allows me to enjoy His Beauty. My joy comes, not from the results, but from the fact that I have this longing, from the fact that I have desire and ability to rearrange my life, to change my priorities, to set aside worldly ideas of success, pride, worth in exchange of what is humanly consider weaknesses, with the purpose of being there… just in case Jehovah decides to show up, again.
Because of His faithful work in me, I am able to dream these crazy Kingdom dreams, I’m able to risk it all, setting myself in a position of disadvantage with the be an instrument He may use to bring people out of darkness, and into His marvelous light.
That God-given ability and desire is the source of my joy.
