The workday is about to start, and I have had my daily session with one of my mentor-coach, king Solomon. These are my expectations for today.
Chapter four of Ecclesiastes is another shift in focus: Solomon is now considering life from the human perspective. There is not much difference between oppressed and oppressor, since neither has comfort. Human motivation is rooted in envy, and laziness is counterproductive. The standard of the world may not be the best tool to measure success, after all.
With his lens fixed on here and now, Solomon says there are two worthy anchors for our activities: quietness and not being alone.
Then, today I will strive – empowered by His Beauty – to enjoy quiet moments to meditate and contemplate, at the same time that I actively try to be a good companion for those around me.
What will you strive for, today? Why?
Remember His grace, Follow Him in humility, Cultivate constantly, All in cultural diversity.
